Asbestos Awareness
Program Description
This Asbestos Awareness program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of asbestos-related risks, regulations, and safe work practices as mandated by Ontario’s Designated Substance Regulation 278/05.
The program aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify hazards and health risks, manage, and work safely around asbestos-containing materials.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

Recognize common asbestos containing materials

Identify the different types of asbestos fibres

Discuss the health risks and latency periods associated with asbestos exposure

Identify key elements of Ontario Regulation 278/05

Discuss control measures to minimize asbestos exposure

Identify personal protective equipment and safe work practices
