Bucket Truck Operator
Program Description
This program is designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary for the safe operation of bucket trucks. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the equipment, hazards, safety protocols, and legal requirements associated with bucket truck operation.
The program will combine theoretical instruction with hands-on training to ensure participants can confidently and safely operate bucket trucks in various work environments.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

Identify what it means to be a competent operator and how to maintain competency

Recognize common bucket truck hazards

Identify primary components

Identify stability principles and factors that affect stability

Perform pre-operational inspections

Demonstrate thew correct use of fall protection
Practical Evaluation
Following the program, operators shall receive a practical skills evaluation
* Note – Practical skills evaluations will be completed provided there is a sufficient amount of time remaining following theory training. Practical skills evaluations are affected by the skill level of each participant. Each evaluation may take up to 45 minutes.
For new operators, practical skills evaluations must be completed within 90 days of theory training.
