Program Description

 

This comprehensive program is designed to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the Canada Labour Code Part II, specifically focusing on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations. 

 

Participants will delve into the key provisions, principles, and practical applications of OHS within the Canadian federal jurisdiction. The program aims to empower participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment, in compliance with the legislative requirements outlined in the Canada Labour Code Part II.

  • Identify the scope and application of the CLC 

  • Outline the responsibilities and duties of employers in maintaining a safe workplace

  • Identify the rights and obligations of workers under the OHS regulations

  • Outline the role and functions of policy and workplace health and safety committees in promoting OHS

  • Explain the process and importance of recognizing workplace hazards

  • Identify methods for assessing risk and applying control measures 

  • Comprehend the process for reporting accidents and incidents 

  • Develop skills for conducting comprehensive workplace inspections 

  • Identify the importance of complying with legislation
