Hazard Recognition

Program Description 

 

MSW’s Hazard Recognition course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify, assess, and control workplace hazards. This course covers various types of hazards, including physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards. Participants will learn how to apply hazard recognition techniques to prevent accidents and injuries, ensuring a safer work environment

 

Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify Workplace Hazards: Recognize different types of hazards present in the workplace.

  • Assess Risks: Evaluate the potential impact of identified hazards on worker health and safety.

  • Implement Control Measures: Develop and apply effective strategies to mitigate or eliminate hazards.

  • Understand Legislative Requirements: Comprehend Ontario's occupational health and safety legislation related to hazard recognition.

  • Promote Safety Culture: Foster a proactive safety culture within the organization.
