Electrical Safety

Program Description

 

This program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of electrical safety practices in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z462 standard. 

 

Participants will gain insights into the principles, regulations, and best practices that govern electrical safety in the workplace. The course will cover a range of topics, from hazard identification and risk assessment to the implementation of safe work practices and the use of personal protective equipment.


Learning Outcomes 

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose of CSA Z462

  • Identify hazards and risks associated with electricity 

  • Define arc flash and arc blast

  • Identify safe work practices when exposed to electrical hazards as per CSA Z462 

  • Define shock protection boundaries and appropriate PPE
