JHSC - Refresher

Program Description

Like most things, if we don’t use and apply what we have been taught previously, we lose it. Our JHSC refresher workshop is designed to ensure certified JHSC members recall what they were taught previously and evaluate the performance and impact they have had on the workplace over the past three years.

During the session we also discuss legislative updates and how they may apply in your workplace and provide participants with tools (checklists, policy samples, hazard recognition forms) that allow them to identify areas where the JHSC may improve.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Recall the rights, duties, and responsibilities of certified members and other workplace parties

  • Recognize and apply legislative changes or updates that have occurred in the last three years

  • Utilize tools to evaluate the strength of your Internal Responsibility System (IRS)

  • Practice recognizing, assessing, controlling and evaluating hazard controls

  • Create action plans for monitoring controls

  • Identify areas where your JHSC can improve

  • Discuss best practices with other JHSC members
