Ladder Safety

Program Description

 

This Ladder Safety program is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to use both portable and fixed ladders safely and effectively. Participants will gain a deep understanding of ladder types, proper selection, inspection, setup, and usage techniques. The course emphasizes practical, hands-on learning to ensure participants can confidently apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.

 

Learning Outcomes 

 

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common causes of ladder accidents 

  • Identify the differences between various ladder types 

  • Learn how to choose the appropriate ladder for a specific task 

  • Inspect ladders for damage or defects

  • Identify key components of a ladder and how to assess their condition 

  • Demonstrate proper techniques for setting up portable ladders

  • Identify the importance of maintaining a center of gravity and avoiding overreaching

  • Identify potential hazards and safe practices during ladder use

  • Explain the correct methods for ladder transport and storage
