Program Description

 

Machine guarding is a critical aspect of workplace safety, designed to protect workers from potential hazards associated with machinery and equipment. This comprehensive 4-hour training program aims to provide participants with a thorough understanding of machine guarding principles, standards, and best practices. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and case studies, participants will gain the skills necessary to identify, assess, and implement effective machine guarding measures in various industrial settings.

  • Discuss relevant regulations and standards governing machine guarding

  • Identify common types of machine hazards

  • Identify different types of machine guards, including fixed, adjustable, and interlocking guards

  • Discuss the hierarchy of controls, emphasizing elimination, substitution, and engineering controls

  • Identify the importance of regular inspection and maintenance to ensure guard effectiveness
