Overhead Crane Operator
Program Description
Overhead Cranes play a critical role in many organizations. However, improper operation can lead to downtime and incidents which can affect the health and safety, morale, productivity, and profitability of your workplace. Having competent operators with the ability to identify potential hazards and adhere to safety standards is essential for both the well-being of workers and the integrity of workplace operations.
This comprehensive training program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate different types of overhead cranes (bridge, jib, gantry). The program will cover essential theoretical and practical aspects of crane operation, emphasizing key competency aspects, hazards, and safety protocols.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

Practical Evaluation
Following the program, operators shall receive a practical skills evaluation
* Note – Practical skills evaluations will be completed provided there is a sufficient amount of time remaining following theory training. Practical skills evaluations are affected by the skill level of participants and different types of overhead cranes requiring an evaluation on. Each evaluation may take up to 30 minutes per type of crane.
For new operators, practical skills evaluations must be completed within 90 days of theory training.
