Program Description

 

This Power Saw Program is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills required for safe and efficient power saw operation. Power Saws, which include the abrasive cutting saw, circular saw, reciprocating saw, and chainsaw are commonly used in construction, agriculture, and various industries. 

 

This program covers key aspects of power saw operation, and the best practices for maximizing productivity while minimizing risks.

 

Learning Outcomes 

 

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and understand the various safety precautions with portable powered saws

  • Identify different types of saws and their specific uses

  • Discuss industry regulations and standards related to saw use

  • Identify potential hazards and risks associated with saw operation

  • Discuss the function of key components such as the abrasive cutting saw, circular saw, reciprocating saw, and chainsaw 

  • Learn how to interpret and use the various PPE requirements

  • Conduct pre-operation inspections to ensure the saw is in optimal condition

  • Identify the importance of regular equipment checks in preventing accidents

  • Discuss fuel safety – gas, electric, and battery
