First Aid - Standard CPR/AED

Program Description

 

Our First Aid and CPR training program equips participants with essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively to medical emergencies in various settings. Whether in the workplace, community, or home environment, being prepared to provide immediate assistance can save lives.

 

This two day in-class program provides participants with a comprehensive overview of First Aid and CPR/AED techniques, the program covers the recognition and treatment of airway, breathing, and cardiovascular emergencies, AEDs, management of a casualty, seizure, and diabetic emergencies. 

 

Learning Outcomes 

 

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Define and explain associated terminology

  • Identify choking, cardiovascular, sudden medical, and environmental emergencies

  • Demonstrate how to adequately provide CPR

  • Explore secondary surveys

  • Develop skills to treat airway, breathing, and circulation emergencies

  • Identify the 3 key principles in First Aid; Check, Call, Care

  • Recognize and address respiratory and cardiac arrest, head and spine injuries, bone, muscle, and joint injuries and wound care

 

Target Audience 

Any workplace with 6 or more employees, any person who works with children, early childhood educators, lifeguards/swim instructors, trades
