Program Description

 

MSW’s Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the regulations, safety protocols, and best practices associated with the transportation of hazardous materials. The course will cover key topics such as classification of dangerous goods, packaging requirements, labeling and marking, documentation, and emergency response. 

 

Participants will gain practical knowledge and skills to ensure the safe and compliant transport of dangerous goods, promoting the well-being of both individuals and the environment. Through a combination of discussion, case studies, and interactive activities, this program aims to equip participants with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of transporting hazardous materials responsibly.

 

Learning Outcomes 

 

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Comprehend the relevant legislation and regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods, including the TDG Act and Regulations

  • Interpret and apply these regulations (special cases and exemptions) to ensure compliance and minimize the risk of incidents during transport

  • Gain the knowledge and skills needed to properly classify dangerous goods, identify their hazards, and understand the implications for packaging, labeling, and documentation

  • Complete the required documentation accurately and efficiently

  • Comprehend placarding requirements 

  • Identify reporting requirements
