WHMIS 2015

Program Description

 

When you are exposed to hazardous materials, sometimes the adverse health effects can be sudden and obvious. In many cases, the effects may take months or years to develop. With the right controls and training, employers can prevent occupational illness and injury. 

 

MSW’s WHMIS 2015 program is based on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). Our program is direct and to the point, providing your employees with the knowledge required to safely and effectively work with hazardous materials. 

 

Learning Outcomes 

 

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the importance of WHMIS 

  • Describe your responsibilities under WHMIS 

  • Discuss physical and health hazards

  • Recognize WHMIS pictograms

  • Identify elements required on supplier and workplace labels 

  • Utilize Safety Data Sheets 

 

Target Audience 

Workers exposed or likely to be exposed to biological, physical or chemical agents.
